CDC Supported States Collecting epilepsy Prevalence Data
This map of the United States shows which states the CDC has supported to promote surveys of epilepsy occurrence through the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and the California Health Interview Survey. 2005 BRFSS epilepsy prevalence data was collected in South Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Wyoming, and Washington. Alabama, New Jersey, Ohio, Nebraska and Montana collected 2006 BRFSS epilepsy prevalence data. BRFSS epilepsy prevalence data was collected for 2005 and 2006 in Georgia, Florida, Wisconsin, Texas, Arizona, and Oregon. California collected epilepsy prevalence data in the California Health Interview Survey in 2003 and 2005. No epilepsy prevalence data was collected in Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, North Carolina, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Nevada and Washington, DC.
