CDC Atlanta Visitor Center Information Guide

Physical Security has developed an information guide which may be useful to visitors who are unfamiliar with the CDC Clifton Road facility.

We recommend that this information guide be made available to visitors prior to their visit.

INFORMATION GUIDE

Location: CDC Parkway at the CDC Clifton Road facility in Atlanta, Georgia

Directions:

From I-85 North: From I-75/85 South:
Take I-85 South Take I-75/85 North; at the split, take I-85 North
To Exit 89 (North Druid Hills Road) To Exit 89 (North Druid Hills Road)
Left onto North Druid Hills Road Right onto North Druid Hills Road
Right onto Briarcliff Road Right onto Briarcliff Road
Left onto Clifton Road Left onto Clifton Road
Right onto CDC Parkway Right onto CDC Parkway
From I-285 North: From I-285 South:
Take I-285 South (Augusta/Macon) Take I-285 North (Chattanooga/Greenville)
To Exit 38 (Lawrenceville Hwy.) To Exit 40 (Ponce de Leon/Church St.)
Right onto Lawrenceville Hwy. Left onto Ponce de Leon
Lawrenceville Hwy. becomes Scott Blvd. Right onto North Decatur Road

Visitor Entry Requirements (Gate 1):

  • Display a valid photo ID, vehicle registration/rental car agreement
  • Visitors are given a temporary parking permit
  • Guard force will designate area for parking

Visitor Processing (Visitor Center):

  • Provide name of CDC contact to guard force
  • Guard force will notify contact of visitor arrival
  • Provide a valid ID to guard force for visitor badge
  • Display visitor badge above the waist and visible
  • Hand carried items will be searched, to include X-ray
  • Individual searches will be performed with metal detection.

NOTE: Federal Law prohibits the knowing possession or the causing to be present of firearms or other dangerous weapons in Federal facilities and Federal court facilities by all persons not specifically authorized by Title 18 United States Code, Section 930(c). Violators shall be subject to fine and/or imprisonment for periods up to five (5) years.

Transportation: Shuttle service provided to Buildings 1, 11, 16, and return to Visitor Center. Guard force notifies shuttle when visitors arrive, and request to depart.

Departing the Clifton Road Facility:

  • Collect all personal belongings
  • Return visitor badge and parking permit upon exiting CDC property.
