Crude and Age-Adjusted Hospital Discharge Rates for Nontraumatic Lower Extremity Amputation per 1,000 Diabetic Population, United States, 1988–2009

Both crude and age-adjusted hospital discharge rates for nontramatic lower extremity amputation per 1,000 diabetic population decreased from 1996 through 2009. In 2009, the crude and age-adjusted rates per 1,000 diabetic population were similar (3.3 vs 3.2).
