Crude and Age-Adjusted Hospital Discharge Rates for Diabetic Ketoacidosis as First-Listed Diagnosis per 1,000 Diabetic Population, United States, 1980–2005
After peaking in the mid-1980s, the age-adjusted hospital discharge rate for diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) as the first-listed diagnosis per 1,000 diabetic population decreased overall. The crude hospital discharge rate experienced only a slight decrease during the same time period.
