Average Length of Stay (LOS) in Days of Hospital Discharges with Ischemic Heart Disease as First-Listed Diagnosis and Diabetes as Secondary Diagnosis, United States, 1988–2006

From 1988 through 2006, the average length of stay of hospital discharges with ischemic heart disease as the first-listed diagnosis and diabetes as secondary diagnosis decreased by 4.0 days (from 7.5 to 3.5 days). As seen in the detailed tables (link below), decreases in the average length of stay were seen among all age and race-sex groups examined.
