Age-Adjusted Hospital Discharge Rates for Heart Failure as First-Listed Diagnosis per 1,000 Diabetic Population, United States, by Sex, 1988–2006

For both men and women, age-adjusted hospital discharge rates for heart failure as first-listed diagnosis per 1,000 diabetic population increased from 1980 through 1993, dropped in 1994 and showed little change thereafter. Rates were similar for men and women throughout the time period.
