Crude and Age-Adjusted Hospital Discharge Rates for Heart Failure as First-Listed Diagnosis per 1,000 Diabetic Population, United States, 1988–2006

The crude hospital discharge rates for heart failure as first-listed diagnosis per 1,000 diabetic population remained unchanged from 1988 to 1996, and then decreased to 2006. From 1988 to 2006, no clear trend was detected for age-adjusted hospital discharge rates from 1988 to 2006. The age-adjusted rate is 18.9 per 1,000 diabetic population in 1988 and 13.4 in 2006.
