Percentage of Adults Aged 60 Years or Older With Diagnosed Diabetes Who Needed Assistance With Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL),* by Age, United States, 1997–2008

From 1997 to 2008, the percentage of adults aged 60 years or older with diagnosed diabetes who needed assistance with IADL, such as preparing meals, managing money, shopping, doing housework, or using a telephone, has changed little. Throughout the time period, a higher percentage of adults aged 75 years or older needed assistance with IADL when compared to adults aged 60–74 years.
