The
Tennessee Diabetes Prevention and Control Program (DPCP) has received
funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since l994.
Activities supported by the Tennessee DPCP include the following:
- Establish state coalition. The coalition has a diverse membership
and active and involved committees.
- Collaborate to educate the public about diabetes. One collaboration
with the American Diabetes Association, the Tennessee Academy of Ophthalmology,
and the University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service will
bring the National Eye Institutes traveling vision exhibit to

diabetes and disseminate information to people with diabetes, those
at high risk for developing diabetes, and their families and health
