Native Diabetes Wellness Program (NDWP)

Grantees

Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians (Oregon). Program title: Siletz Healthy Traditions Project. The program is engaging the tribal community in identifying and sharing the stories of healthy traditional ways of eating, being active, and communicating health information and support for type 2 diabetes prevention and wellness. The tribe’s mission for the Healthy Traditions Project is to improve the health and well being of the Siletz community through training and community education, community traditional foods projects, communal hunting, gathering and fishing activities, and the processing, preserving and preparation of traditional foods.
