"It's more than food. It's life." (Más que comida, es vida.) is a suite of resources developed around NDEP's popular bilingual booklet; Tasty Recipes for People with Diabetes and Their Families (Recetario Ricas recetas para personas con diabetes y sus familiares). You can use these resources as part of your outreach and educational activities.

Tasty RecipesTasty Recipes is filled with recipes specifically designed for Latin Americans. This booklet was designed to dispel misunderstandings about healthy eating and teach Hispanics/Latinos how to adopt a tasty but nutritional meal plan that maintains the cultural uniqueness of their food. Recipes are accompanied by their nutritional facts table. The booklet also includes diabetes health information and resources. This effective, yet practical, educational tool is a terrific addition to any kitchen, education class, or to a cooking demonstration.

Flyer: Your prescription for helping Hispanic/Latino patients achieve behavior change through diabetes education

A flyer showcasing the package of diabetes control resources available from NDEP. This bilingual flyer groups NDEP resources to support behavior change using as a framework the AADE7 Self-Care Behaviors —healthy eating, being active, monitoring, taking medication, problem solving, reducing risks, and healthy coping. Print the flyer, and give it to your colleagues in diabetes education. If you are attending a "train the trainer" session, share the flyer with other health care providers. Share it with the staff members who need to be aware of these resources.
