Total Population per Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) 
Specialty Physician, 1990

A map depicts county-level geographic disparities in the total population per cardiovascular disease (CVD) specialty physician in 1990. In 1990, 70% of the counties in the United States had no CVD specialty physicians.  Metropolitan counties were more likely to have favorable population to CVD specialty physician ratios than non-metropolitan counties.  In the counties where CVD physicians were found, the population per CVD physician ranged from 932 to 205,000.  For more details, refer to page 62.
