http://washingtonregency.hyatt.com

To reserve a hotel room, please call the Hyatt Regency Washington directly. You also may visit the online conference reservations system at http://washingtonregency.hyatt.com. Unfortunately, the conference group room rate is no longer available. There are still rooms available, however, at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington.

All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card at the time of reservation. If you have to cancel your reservation, please be sure to do so by 3 p.m. the day before your scheduled arrival date, otherwise, you will be assessed a no-show fee of one night’s stay. If you cancel your reservation, please ensure that you record and keep your cancellation number.

The check-in time for the hotel is 3 p.m., and the check-out time is noon.

For federal travelers who are included in the approved HHS travel memo, CDC has developed a blanket actual expense memo to cover federal travelers who wish to stay at the conference hotel. Please work with your travel preparer to ensure that you follow the correct procedures for securing a room at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington.

Ground Transportation Information

Multiple means of transportation are available from the Metro DC Area airports, including shuttles, taxis, and the METRO system. The following outlines the methods of transportation from each airport—National, Dulles, and BWI—as well as approximate costs. Please note that National Airport is the closest to the hotel; Dulles and BWI airports may be cheaper to fly in to, but are further away from the hotel.

Train

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (METRO) may be accessed from the National Airport only to get to the Hyatt Regency. To get to the Hyatt from National Airport, take the Yellow Line train towards Fort Totten, then disembark at the Gallery PI – Chinatown Station. Next, transfer to the Red Line going towards Glenmont, then get off at the second stop, which is Union Station. This station is two blocks from the hotel, and the cost of the ride is about $1.75. For more information about transportation or for a map of the metro system, please go to the Web site at http://www.wmata.com.

Shuttle Service

FT Airport Shuttle – This service is available from the BWI and Dulles airports for single reservations, but only for group reservations for National Airport. To secure transportation, reservations may be made 24 hours a day by calling 703.463.5170 or 1-877-FLY-FTAS (877-359-3827). Service is available from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. Approximate fares one-way: BWI - $49 per person; Dulles - $39 per person; National – contact reservations for group pricing. More information about this service may be accessed on the Web at http://www.ftairportshuttle.com or calling the reservations number.

Super Shuttle – Information about this service is available on the Web at http://www.supershuttle.com, or you may contact the reservations number at 1.800.Bluevan (800.258.3826). Service is available to the hotel from the Dulles and National Airports only. The approximate cost is $12 each way from National, and $27 each way from Dulles, per person.

Taxi Cabs

Cabs are available at each airport in the ground transportation areas. The approximate cost from National airport is $12 to $15 one way; Dulles is approximately $50; and BWI approximately $65. Please be sure to go to the taxi stands to ensure that you only use taxi services authorized to transport passengers from the airport by the authorities.

For Federal Travelers Outside the Washington, D.C., Area: Thank you for your interest in the summit. In an effort to be good stewards of public funds, care has been taken to balance attendance. CDC has submitted a list of proposed travelers to HHS. To this end, registration has closed to federal employees who are not already listed on the current HHS travel memo. If you would like to be included on the wait-list, please send your name and justification for travel to OChamberlain@cdc.gov. Following the summit, presentations will be available through the CDC Web site.
