NETS Module 1: Building a Quality Presentation
The NPCR Education and Training Series (NETS) is a series of educational tools for state trainers to support central cancer registries in their role of providing education to staff and reporters. For more information about how you may use the NETS modules, please see Guidelines for Using the NETS Modules.
This three-part module is designed for education coordinators within the central registries and helps trainers identify what training is needed, improve training methods, build presentations using Microsoft® PowerPoint 2003, and develop exercises.
- Part 1: Registry Training Tools [PDF-3.5MB] explains the basics of adult learning styles, choosing subject matter, training methods, information recources, copyright and fair use, and public speaking.
- Part 2: Sample Lecture Development [PDF-1MB] demonstrates how to develop a presentation about a specific cancer site.
- Part 3: Using Microsoft® PowerPoint 2003 [PDF-3.6MB] shows how to create a high-quality presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 software.
