Registry Operations Resources
The following registry operations resources are available—
Program Manual [PDF-1.9MB]
The Program Manual brings together all documents and procedures that define NPCR's expectations and provide guidance on specific activities into a single reference document. Included are hyperlinks to the appropriate outside reference materials.
Management Reports
Summarized central cancer registry data are the basis for management reports that provide information about the effectiveness of the cancer surveillance system and processes. This slide set explains the importance of management reports and how they can be used to monitor and improve the three hallmarks of high-quality registry data: completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) Recruitment Materials
Recognizing the implications of a cancer registrar shortage, the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) developed a cancer registrar recruitment project with National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) called "Quality Cancer Data Saves Lives: The Vital Role of Cancer Registrars in the Fight Against Cancer."
A Cancer Registrar's Guide to Collecting Industry and Occupation [PDF-2.5MB]
The usual (longest-held) occupation and industry of workers can reveal the national cancer burden by industry and occupation. Such information can also be used to help discover jobs that may have a high risk for cancer or other diseases and for which prevention efforts can be concentrated (or targeted).
