  1. To whom should I refer someone who seeks clarification on meaningful use (MU) rules?

Refer them to the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Web site or the appropriate state Medicaid office.

  1. Is there a list of state Medicaid staff?

Your state health commissioner should be your single point of contact.

  1. What other state programs should state cancer registries collaborate with?

Immunization, syndromic surveillance, and electronic laboratory reporting for communicable diseases.

  1. Will templates be distributed for communication and meeting certain requirements so states can document MU?

Yes. We are working closely with the Stage 2 Meaningful Use Public Health Reporting Task Force to develop these documents.

  1. Will the twice-monthly vendor calls cover specialized registries that are part of another MU objective?

No. These calls are only for questions about the cancer reporting objective. CDC’s MU Technical Assistance Team and CDC’s EHR MU Web site can answer questions about specialized registries and other public health objectives.

  1. Will there be a venue for additional questions?

Additional questions can be asked via e-mail and during EHR vendor office hours (first and third Wednesdays of each month). Questions will be added to this page periodically.
