Data from population-based cancer registries participating in the CDC’s supported National Program of Cancer Registries or NCI’s -supported Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program, includes all states meeting USCS publication criteria for all years 2006–2010 and covers approximately 94.8% of the U.S. population.

‡Rates are suppressed if state did not meet USCS publication criteria or if fewer than 16 cases.

Only squamous cell carcinomas are included for penile cancer. All histological types were confirmed microscopically; definitions specified in Watson, 2008.
