State Grant Activities

For fiscal year 2009, the New York State Department of Health received $1,000,000.

The New York State Department of Health set forth the following goals to build or expand its biomonitoring program:

  • Expanding the range of environmental chemicals that were measured in the 2004 New York City Community Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (CHANES);
  • Assessing exposure to depleted uranium (DU) in a population of upstate New York residents and in former workers of National Lead Industries, Colonie, Albany County, New York; and
  • Assessing exposure to methyl mercury among two Chinese communities in New York State.
