The North Carolina Community Health Assessment Initiative (NC-CHAI) is enhancing the North Carolina Comprehensive Assessment for Tracking Community Health (NC-CATCH) website by creating profile pages, for each county, summarizing major health indicators, expanding and increasing accessibility of the community health assessment website, and working with Healthy Carolinians (a partnership of various stakeholders) to conduct community health assessments. NC-CHAI has revised and updated the North Carolina Community Health Assessment Guidebook, which has been recognized as a national template for community health assessment work. North Carolina has also developed the Community Health Assessment Academy, a set of trainings designed for new health educators to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to be leaders in improving the health of their communities. NC-CHAI also conducts a number of trainings outside the Academy framework.
