Florida's CDC-funded AI project is the Comprehensive Assessment, Strategic Success (COMPASS) initiative. The main goals of COMPASS are to provide access to tools and resources for comprehensive, systematic community health assessment and health improvement planning practice using theory-based framework guided by NACCHO's Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) framework, and to establish this comprehensive systematic assessment practice across all 67 county health departments in the state. Florida has strengthened its capacity by deploying various assessment models and ensured stability by training staff and community partners. COMPASS has provided mentorship at several U.S. Army bases with plans to adopt Florida's MAPP-based community health assessment framework.
