Donald Shriber, JD, MPH, Acting Associate Director for Policy, is the lead for developing, communicating, and implementing CDC′s global and domestic policy. Prior to this position, from January 2009 to September 2009, Mr. Shriber was the Interim Deputy Director for Policy, Legislation and Communication. He coordinated the activities of the Office of Strategy and Innovation, the Office of Enterprise Communication, CDC′s Washington Office, and the Congressional activities currently managed by the Financial Management Office.
In 1995, Mr. Shriber was appointed Associate Director of the CDC Washington, DC, office. He represents CDC in Washington before the Department of Health and Human Services, other Administration officials, and non-governmental entities. He also directs and oversaw CDC′s legislative strategy.
Shriber has served as counsel to the Commerce Committee, US House of Representatives, Washington, DC, from 1987-1995, where he directed the Committee′s legislative initiatives on the federal budget and healthcare.
Mr. Shriber received a bachelor of arts from Harvard University, JD from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his master′s in public health in 1987. He is a member of the California and Washington, D.C., bars.
