Planning a Cruise? Check Here First!
All passenger cruise ships arriving at U.S. ports are subject to unannounced inspection under the voluntary inspection program. The purpose of these inspections is to achieve levels of sanitation that will minimize the potential for gastrointestinal disease outbreaks on these ships. Ships are rated on the following items to determine if they meet CDC sanitation standards: water, food preparation and holding, potential contamination of food and general cleanliness, storage, and repair.
