Trends in Homicide Rates, United States, 1991–2007

From 1991–2007, homicide rates were consistently higher among persons ages 10–24 years than among all ages combined. Homicide rates among persons ages 10–24 years dropped from 15.6 deaths per 100,000 population in 1991 to 9.1 deaths per 100,000 in 2007.
