Trends in Homicide Rates, United States, 1994–2010

From 1994 to 2010, homicide rates were consistently higher among persons ages 10 to 24 years than among all ages combined. Homicide rates among persons ages 10 to 24 years dropped from 15.2 deaths per 100,000 population in 1994 to 7.5 deaths per 100,000 in 2010.
