Homicide Rates Among Females Ages 10–24 Years, by Race/Ethnicity and Mechanism, United States, 2005–2007

From 2005–2007, firearms were the leading mechanism for homicide among females age 10–24 years. The firearm homicide rate among females ages 10-24 years was highest for Non-Hispanic Blacks with 4.7 deaths per 100,000 population. The firearm homicide rate among females ages 10–24 years was lowest for Non-Hispanic Whites and Non-Hispanic Asians/Pacific Islanders with 0.8 deaths per 100,000.
