Homicide Rates Among Females Ages 10–24 Years, by Race/Ethnicity and Mechanism, United States, 2008–2010

From 2008 to 2010, firearms were the leading mechanism for homicide among females age 10 to 24 years. The firearm homicide rate among females ages 10-24 years was highest for Non-Hispanic Blacks with 4.6 deaths per 100,000 population. The firearm homicide rate among females ages 10 to 24 years was lowest for Non-Hispanic Asians/Pacific Islanders with 0.5 deaths per 100,000.
