Suicide Rates* Among Persons Ages 25–64 Years, by Race/Ethnicity and Sex, United States, 2005–2009

During 2005–2009, the highest suicide rates for males ages 25 to 64 years were among Non-Hispanic Whites with 29.69 suicides per 100,000 followed by American Indian/Alaskan Natives with 29.26 suicides per 100,000. The highest rates for females ages 25 to 64 years were among the Non-Hispanic Whites with 8.98 suicides per 100,000 followed by American Indian/Alaskan Natives with 8.36 suicides per 100,000.
