The conference registration deadline is August 16, 2014. There is no registration fee.

Preliminary Agenda


The CDC has reserved a block of sleeping rooms at the Courtyard Marriot, 130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, Georgia 30030. Participants are responsible for making their hotel reservation by August 25th online at, or by calling Marriott Reservations at 1-888-236-2427and asking for CDC TB ETN/PEN _September 15, 2014 – September 18, 2014.The hotel is located in beautiful downtown Decatur, with lots of restaurants, shopping, and art galleries within walking distance.


The conference will be held at the CDC, Global Communications Center (GCC), 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, Georgia, 30329. All conference sessions will be held at the GCC.


Conference participants will be required to complete security checks daily upon arrival at the CDC including presenting a U.S. passport, state driver’s license, or state issued ID. Temporary badges will be issued to participants. Non-U.S citizens are welcome to attend this conference; however, there are additional security requirements and participants should contact Peri Hopkins at for assistance.


The Marriot Courtyard is approximately 3.6 miles from the CDC. Participants are responsible for transportation to and from the CDC; however, there is a free Emory University shuttle that stops directly across the street from the Courtyard Marriot every 20-30 minutes and will drop participants within one block of the CDC. Please visit for maps, shuttle schedules, and other information. The Courtyard Marriot also provides a free shuttle to and from the CDC. Please contact the Marriot Courtyard for shuttle schedules and reservations.


We recommend using MARTA for travel to and from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport/City of Decatur. The Decatur MARTA station is a few blocks from the Courtyard Marriot.

MARTA directions from airport:
Take northbound train to Five Points station.
Exit train and switch to the Blue Line train going east towards Indian Creek Get off at Decatur Station
Exit Decatur Station onto the “Church Street” side and turn left onto Church

Go left on the next street (Ponce De Leon)
Go right on the next street (Clairemont Ave)
Hotel is on the left
