A Message from the Editor

March 26, 2009

Photo: A group of business professionalsOn March 18, CDC Partnerships hosted the first annual Business Grantee Forum. In this issue, we highlight the three forum grantees: National Business Coalition on Health, National Business Group on Health and National Safety Council.

The majority of adult Americans work and, as such, promoting public health in the workplace can impact a broad range and large number of employees. The work of the three grantees has helped build bridges between public health, employers, the workplace and community, and continues to build a business case for the link between health and employee performance in the workplace.

During the forum, the grantees presented information on how these bridges are helping to promote health, prevent disease and reduce injury. They were joined by CDC staff who discussed specific examples of their work with the business partners. Together, they showed the potential power of private and public partnerships.

Warm Regards,
