A Message from the Editor
October 2, 2008
In support of CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) annual Seasonal Flu Vaccination campaign, the National Center for Health Marketing is launching a variety of eHealth activities to motivate people to Get Vaccinated!
In collaboration with NCIRD, the following activities are underway:
- A feature article, Protect against Flu, was posted on the CDC.gov home page to alert consumers about the importance of getting vaccinated. It covers basic information about the flu, who should get vaccinated, symptoms and complications, and how flu is spread.
- Get involved! CDC Get Vaccinated graphical buttons are now available in assorted image file sizes for placement on your organization’s Web site. For additional sizes, visit the Seasonal Flu eHealth Campaign download page on the CDC Partners' Web site.
- CDC's Get Vaccinated Health-e-Cards are available in several different designs, include flu vaccination messages for parents and healthcare professionals, and link to the Seasonal Flu Web site for more information.
Additional campaign materials will be released over the next several months, including several widgets with seasonal flu content, flu maps and interactive quizzes; mobile-ready CDC flu content on m.cdc.gov; two bloginars during National Influenza Vaccination Week (December 8–14, 2008); CDC Myspace page features and social networking badges; and an in-world vaccination activity for tweens and their grandparents in popular virtual world Whyville.
Be sure to stop by the CDC Partners' Web site and see what else is new. As always, feel free to send any feedback, questions or concerns regarding CDC Partnership Matters or the Partners' Web site to CDC Partnerships.
Warm Regards,
Division of Partnerships and Strategic Alliances
