Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the PHIFP, you must:
- Meet the requirements
- Educational
- Public health experience
- Informatics experience
- Research experience
- Be willing to commit to a 2-year full-time program
- Be willing to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia
Educational Requirements
A doctoral (e.g., PhD, MD, PharmD) or masters level degree is required. Qualifying degree must be from an accredited academic institution in one of the following:
- Public health, medicine, veterinary medicine, health care, health services research
- Computer science, information science, information systems
- Statistics
- Epidemiology
- Public health informatics or related discipline
Informatics Experience
Documented 1-year experience for doctoral level candidates and 3-year experience for masters level candidates is required in one of the following fields:
- Public health informatics
- Health or clinical informatics or related field
- Information systems
- Information science
- Computer science
- Information technology
Public Health Experience
Documented 1-year experience for doctoral level candidates and 3-year experience for masters level candidates is required in one of the following areas:
- Public health
- Related health care profession (e.g., medicine, nursing)
Research Requirements
Documented experience in performing research or evaluation during or after academic training is required. This includes publications, thesis, poster presentation, or a research or evaluation proposal.
Relocation
Relocation to Atlanta, Georgia is required.
Citizenship
U.S. citizenship is not required. Non-U.S. citizens may apply, but must meet the visa and immigration requirements.
