Where Do Associates Work?

The 2024 associate application period is now closed.

Contact the PHAP helpdesk with any questions: phap@cdc.gov.

Public health associates are stationed at host sites located throughout the United States and US territories, including state, tribal, local, and territorial public health agencies; nongovernmental organizations such as community-based organizations, public health institutes and associations, and academic institutions.

At their host sites, associates gain hands-on, frontline experience in a subject area. Associates also participate in planned events such as training opportunities at CDC in Atlanta and online learning.

The map below shows which states and territories are currently hosting associates and the number of associates serving in each. Below the map is an expandable list of all PHAP host sites by state/US territory.
