The graphic shows the National Healthy Worksite logo followed by three pictures. The first picture is of a construction worker working on a beam, the middle picture is of a man and a woman holding fruit, and the last picture is of three women jogging outdoors.

The National Healthy Worksite Program is designed to assist employers in implementing science and practice-based prevention and wellness strategies that will lead to specific, measureable health outcomes to reduce chronic disease rates. For most employers, chronic diseases—such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, obesity, arthritis and diabetes—are among the most prevalent, costly, and preventable of all health problems.  The National Healthy Worksite Program seeks to promote good health through prevention, reduce chronic illness and disability, and improve productivity outcomes that contribute to employers’ competitiveness.

Be one in a million hearts. Get Involved.

In 2011 The CDC and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services launched Million Hearts, an initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over the next five years.  The initiative focuses on two main goals: empowering Americans to make healthy choices, and improving care for people, focusing on the ABCS (Aspirin for people at risk, Blood pressure control, Cholesterol management and Smoking cessation.) The National Health Worksite Program supports Million Hearts efforts in the workplace.
