Funded Partners: State, Territorial, and Local Agencies and
Tribal Governments Professional Development
CDC provides funding for state and local education agencies to improve the
capacity of CDC/DASH-funded agencies to effectively implement their programs
through national professional development events, trainings, and follow-up
technical assistance. CDC/DASH-funded partners are
- Developing a collaborative Professional Development Consortium
(between the agencies receiving funding from CDC for professional
development) to share resources, coordinate professional development
events, and provide follow-up support.
- Developing and implementing a national professional development plan
that emphasizes partnerships, is based on agency needs, and focuses on
school health topics and priorities.
- Working together to provide at least 3 professional development events
for partners funded to implement Coordinated School Health Programs, HIV
prevention programs, and asthma management programs by February 2013.
- Providing leadership for the CDC/DASH funded partners meeting.
- Creating an on-line networking and resource sharing system for
CDC/DASH-funded partners to share materials, tools, and strategies.
- Evaluating the outcomes of professional development events to inform
the planning and improvement of future events.
