School crisis plans should include plans for evaluating students and procedures for handling suspicious packages or envelopes. Such a plan must be communicated to families, students, and staff. The plan and facility floor plans should be shared with local law enforcement and emergency management officials. And it should be practiced at least annually and revised as needed.
