B a c k  |  N e x t

Talking Points

Physical education and extracurricular physical activity programs must be safe. They can be excellent places to promote injury prevention and non-violence and offer many opportunities to teach skills needed for lifelong safe participation in physical activity. This can be done by offering a range of experiences; rewarding sportsmanship, effort, teamwork, and adherence to safety rules; strictly enforcing prohibitions against alcohol and drug use and violence during sporting events; and promoting the use of well-maintained personal protective equipment.
