Talking Points

These strategies may seem basic, but they are essential. Designate a person to coordinate safety activities. Make sure a school safety committee or school health council addresses these issues. And it’s important to assess programs and policies at regular intervals. Evaluations can improve the quality of school programs; increase family and community support; help schools reward exceptional work by faculty, staff members, and students for exceptional work; and support grant applications.
