Talking Points

Adolescent behaviors are also related to unintentional injury risks. Nearly 1 in 6 high school students rarely or never wears seatbelts. Most high school students, 85%, rarely or never wear bicycle helmets when riding bicycles. One-third rode with a driver who had been drinking alcohol at least once in the 30 days before the survey. And more than 1 in 8 drove after they themselves had been drinking.
