As of January 3, 2003 - ALL USERS MUST DOWNLOAD AND
INSTALL ver. 2.7 of Microsoft Universal Data Components, and also download
and install the Jet Service Pack 5 for their operating system unless
previously installed. This also includes those using the upgrade patch.
NEW
INSTALLS UNDER WINDOWS XP or 2000 Since giving users local admin privileges is considered a security risk
as well as a liability, AnSWR may not install/run on systems
where users do not have admin rights.
To correct
this problem, and to run Answer as a normal user
Install logged in as local or domain administrator, or use the Run as
command with local or domain privileges under user account.
Go to the AnSWR folder and set Full control.
Run program for first time as domain or local admin or with the run as
command under the user so it can modify the all .mdb and .sys files.
Log off and run as normal as a user with out Admin Privileges

and place it in a temporary directory on a local drive
(e.g., c:/an_temp)

2000 SP2 or XP then this service pack is not required. (service

Download
the file jet40sp5_w2k.exe and place it in a temporary
directory on a local drive
(e.g., c:/an_temp)

The
upgrade patch requires that version 4.2.10 or latter of
AnSWR be previously installed. If you are running an earlier
version you must use the Full Install.

Place the patch file
in a temporary directory and run it
If you have previously
installed a previous release of Ver 6.2.178 there is a smaller
patch available. This patch will only upgrade present ver
6.4.178 installations It does NOT include the latest AnSWR
Help file. ANSWR6B.EXE (3.5mb)
