CDC Offers New Public Health Image Library Daily Widget
CDC.gov now offers a widget to include daily images from CDC’s Public Health Image Library. Add the PHIL daily widget to your Web site.
CDC’s Public Health Image Library (PHIL) is now available as a widget. Users may add the PHIL Daily Widget to their Web site to receive a different image each day from the CDC Public Health Image Library (PHIL). The library is an electronic gateway to CDC's image archives, depicting a myriad of topics from the realm of public health, including disease processes, pathogens, and the history of public health and CDC. Web users can click on images in this widget to view a larger-sized version of the image of the day with more information, as well as a link to a print-quality version for publication purposes.
The CDC Public Health Image Library (PHIL) has evolved into one of the nation’s primary sources for scientific graphics. PHIL currently contains approximately 11,200 predominantly high-resolution, print-quality, public health-related photographs, the majority of which are public domain, and therefore, free of copyright restrictions. This highly-accessible library offers a wide range of imagery including lifestyle scenarios, photomicrographs, depictions of pathologic processes, and imagery documenting the history of public health and the CDC.
