How to Install

It is recommended that you print these instructions. 

To install Epi Info™ 6, Epi Map 2, or DoEpi 1: 

  1. Download the software into an empty temporary directory on the hard drive of your computer, e.g., C:\INSTALL or C:\EPITEMP. The temporary directory should not be called EPI6, EPIMAP2, or EPI2000.
  2. Unpack the compressed files by typing the first part of the file name at the DOS prompt in the temporary directory, or by double-clicking on the file name in File Manager (Win 3.x) or Windows Explorer (Windows 95/98/ME/NT 4.0/2000/XP).
  3. Type INSTALL at the DOS prompt in the temporary directory, or double-click on INSTALL.EXE in File Manager or Windows Explorer.
  4. Follow the installation instructions as they appear on the screen. (Type: C=source drive; C=destination drive; N=no floppy diskette; Enter for normal Epi Info™ 6 installation; I=install; F8 to select all video drivers; F8 to select all printer drivers; Y=autoexec.bat and config.sys)
