Native Diabetes Wellness Program (NDWP)

Grantees

Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians (Minnesota). Program title: Old Ways for Today’s Health. This project is addressing the reestablishment of traditional foods in the diets of tribal community members through cultivating traditional gardens, harvesting and gathering of wild produce including wild rice, hunting and fishing, and harvesting maple sugar harvest, documented through video recordings. The project is also enacting policies to promote environmental changes that support access to healthy nutrition and physical activity, such includes powwow dancing..
