Counties with the highest number were scattered around the country in both metropolitan and rural areas with concentrations in Florida and the Northeast Coastal Region. About 69% of all counties in the United States did not have a neurologist. The frequency distribution indicates that for the majority of counties, the number of neurologists per 100,000 population was between 0 and 15.
