Geographic Distribution of Population, 1995
Black Women Ages 35 Years and Older

A map depicts the population distribution of black women, ages 35 and older, by county.  Counties are categorized by both 1) the population size and 2) the proportion of all women, ages 35 and older, who were black.  Black women are the second most numerous and geographically dispersed women in the nation, and they composed 35% or more of the total population of women in 205 counties in 1995. For more description, refer to text on page 44.
